Songs of Peace and Protest

David Rovics is a political American songwriter. He wrote his first significant composition after witnessing the shocking murder of a close friend. Years later, in the song “Behind the Barricades” David found himself moved to write about the killing of a G8 protester on the streets of Genoa in Italy. Whether it be speaking out on this or singing about Jenin refugee camp and injustices around the world, David wears his heart on his sleeve.

Here he tells why he believes so strongly in doing what he is doing and saying what he is saying and.... we hear his music. Length 24 mins.
