In the Footsteps of Rachel Carson
Sandra Steingraber is an American biologist, ecologist, author and cancer survivor. Her acclaimed book “Living Downstream - an Ecologist Looks at Cancer and the Environment” presented cancer as a human rights issue. And Sandra’s latest book “Having Faith - an Ecologist’s Journey to Motherhood” explores the intimate ecology of motherhood.
Whilst visiting the UK in 2003 as keynote speaker at London’s first annual Rachel Carson Memorial Lecture Sandra took time to record this interview, in which she expands on why she is such an enthusiastic advocate for a cleaner world. Through making complex matters interesting and accessible to everyone she hopes to empower others to be advocates for change. Length 27 mins.
