Voices from Palestine

Amneh Badran is director of the Jerusalem Centre for Women, which is committed to advancing peace initiatives and creating a central role for women in that process. The centre believes that “when crises are seized properly they can provide powerful opportunities for change.” Speaking whilst in the UK, Amneh tells how difficult events have shaped her life and shares something of this vision.

Hear about life on the line - the Green Line. Sharif Omar is a farmer in Qalqilya situated in the occupied West Bank. Following construction of the Separation Wall in 2004 by Israel, he talks about its effect on daily life and explains why he is now campaigning against the threat to his livelihood.

Chris Dunham has been a member of the International Solidarity Movement which campaigns against Israeli occupation of Palestine and for a just and viable peace in that area. ISM recruits volunteers from other nations around the world to undertake non-violent resistance to the Occupation in order to draw attention to its illegality and brutality. Here, Chris talks about why doing something in which he strongly believes is worth a personal sacrifice.
