Long Road to Justice

Benedict Rogers (inset picture on H R page) is a freelance journalist and human rights campaigner. He has worked with Christian Solidarity Worldwide and has visited the Karen people on both sides of the Thai-Burmese border many times. He has also worked with the Karenni, Shan and Chin ethnic nationalities. Ben's book “A Land Without Evil” highlights the atrocities in Burma and explores the historical context of the struggle of the ethnic minority peoples against repression, and here he shares his insights.

Lord David Alton is a crossbench life Peer in the British House of Lords. For 18 years he was a member of the House of Commons, including serving as the Liberal party’s chief whip. During his time in Parliament he campaigned vigorously for human rights issues throughout the world. Here he talks about the concerning situation in Burma, a country he has visited several times. He has also been instrumentally involved with the Jubilee Campaign which has taken practical action for the oppressed, making a difference to suffering communities and individuals around the world.
