Is Sustainability Really Possible?

Roger Levett has played a leading role in developing sustainability policy in the public sector. He is the main author of the Fabian Society policy report “A Better Choice of Choice” and of detailed assessments of the Government’s sustainable development achievements for the Sustainable Development Commission and others.

Biologist and gardener Peter Harper writes and broadcasts on environmental themes. He has been director of the research department at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales for many years. In addition to being the author of the Natural Garden book, he has also co-written a book lifting the lid on all you may need to know about compost loos!

Susan and David Ballard have long cared passionately about the environment. Together they were instrumental in Oxford University’s Climate Change Project which spawned the “Changing Climate” website. The site was a forum for exchanging innovative eco ideas and initiatives. David has been involved in a number of government think tanks on environmental policy and continues to be a consultant on local government climate change strategy. And Susan has been working on the development of a climate change game.
